UPDATE
I have just relocated to AUSTIN!
Yahoo! I'm back in Texas. I've lived in California, Arkansas, Missouri, briefly in NY, and am happy to return to Texas and looking forward to reconnecting with friends.
Condensed Version:
Divorced without any children.
I have a BSEdu and taught primarily in the Juvenile Detention Centers teaching Kids while they were incarcerated and then when special needs children.
I have a Lakeland Terrier named Mavis who is a real joy and a comical little character who keeps me laughing.
I haven't a clue how my old friends remember me... I hope with kindness and laughter at what a young and foolish thing I was...
I know I remember being thrilled with every hello in the hall that I got between classes, and don't have a hard feeling against anyone, knowing we were all getting comfortable in our own skins during that time.
I've traveled a bit, and seen some fabulous shows and concerts throughout the years.
Richard Burton in Camelot (live on stage)
Marcel Marceau the Mime
Lilly Tomlin in Search for Intelligent Life
Jessica Lange and Alec Baldwin in Streetcar Named Desire
Several big Musicals on Broadway
The Bolshoi Ballet
just to give you a taste.... smile
West Coast of Mexico, Yucatan Peninsula, Jamaica, Bahamas, and Bimini.
I'm pretty much a dog person. Loving all dogs but being a Terrier person mostly. I love big dogs and smaller dogs. I like all...Expand for more
animals and have had some of all kinds.
I've mellowed a lot with age and find a simpler life more to my taste. Casual and relaxed being the important features of any event.
I love a rich tapestry of people and things in my life. I find judgment and grudges tiring and not worthy of my time. Life is too short.
I love to laugh and make others laugh.
I lost, we've lost, so many friends, family members, over the years, I have to treasure the time I have with those I care about.
I've always been sentimental but now I let it show.
UPDATE DEC. 2009
I'm getting settled in but still haven't gotten all my stuff moved and hunt for things all the time! The headaches of a move, I suppose. BUT. I have been in touch with some great past friends and have been thrilled to find them as entertaining and lovable as ever. My Dog, Mavis, swam in the Guadelupe River today and nearly pulled me in! She LOVES water and keeping her from jumping into the bathtub can require a closed door so the river was a highlight in her 20 month life.
I have been delighted to find friends dropping by my profile here loads of fun and really appreciate each of you for doing so, it's a warm fuzzy for sure.
Have no huge immediate plans but look forward to a wee bit of travel, some dancing (Texas 2-Step ~grin~), getting better acquainted with friends, learning and growing. Humble Pie has been a good dish for me and served me well.
